If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend spending the required three minutes to watch Nike’s new World Cup commercial. Yes, it’s really three minutes long, but it’s an epic and accurate representation of the excitement and emotions that will be felt all over the world during the upcoming tournament.

This will also explain the “dip in productivity” you may see from me and Nikos (my one employee who follows football as closely as I do) during the World Cup this summer. Others in our office will likely see some tension from us as we try to avoid online media and race home to watch what we’ve TIVO’d that day.

All this may sound a little crazy, but studies show that global productivity drops about 1% during the month-long World Cup. You may not see all that hub-bub here in the United States, but that’s the way it is in the rest of the world, believe it or not.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the Nike commercial, and I hope you also get to enjoy watching the World Cup later this summer.

Dedicated to Your Continued Success,

Chris

P.S. Though the World Cup is a HUGE event that I’m very much looking forward to, you probably won’t really see a “dip” in our productivity here at MCC. We’re still dedicated to providing America’s business owners with Smarter commercial property financing, and you can count on me and my team of Experts to do so . . . even during the World Cup.

P.P.S. We just came close to breaking our company record for loan volume in a four-month period with over $46MM in total project costs financed from January through April. So don’t let anyone tell you that lenders aren’t lending these days . . . because WE ARE!

Interesting…reminds me of how, as a pastor in Gainesville, FL, of the days when we planned weddings around UF’s football calendar. If we held the wedding on the day of a home game there was always a radio tv available so people could check the scores. Sports events do impact even the most significant days of our lives. Businesses can learn from their impact on our lives.

Since you have an interest in soccer, one of our borrowers will be there as the communications platform for the World Cup in South Africa. Check out my guys at http://www.e-greentechnologies.com  and see their soccer ball airship.  They were just featured on the AOL news page with the largest airship in the world.  Talk about having fun with marketing.
