Further thoughts from Chris Hurn, CEO, Mercantile Commercial Capital:
Use the federal bailout funds to invest in the SBA secondary market – Most SBA lenders sell their loans to major institutional investors, but this secondary market for these loans has been hit hard by the lagging economy. With just one percent of the $700 billion dollar bailout, the government could acquire $7 billion worth of SBA loans in the secondary market that would represent low-risk, stable returns for the U.S. Treasury.

Larry Frederick says:
i have taken the same position regarding the SBA and government assistance for several months. This economy is driven by small businesses that create the bulk of the jobs in this country. 10 to 15 billion of available crdit would do wonders and we do not have to compromise credit standards. Make solid loans to solid people.
