Easter Weekend . . .

Just wanted to send you a quick note to wish you and your family a Happy Easter Weekend. Nikos, our Special Projects Manager will enjoy himself because he’s on his way to England this afternoon to see his favorite soccer team (Manchester United) play my favorite soccer team (Chelsea) in Manchester.

I would really, really like to be with him for that, but I decided I ought to stay at home and be with my kids for the Easter Holiday (actually, it was my wife who did the deciding, but I agree that it’s probably for the best). I do look forward to being with Juliana and Reilly on Sunday morning (and watching my Blues beat the Red Devils Saturday morning from my couch).

I hope you survived April Fool’s Day, too. If you’ve seen any of The MCC Office episodes, you know that Robin is our resident prankster. She didn’t disappoint yesterday — nobody was safe — but it was a lot of fun. Maybe I’ll share some of her shenanigans with you next week.

Until then, I hope you have wonderful weekend and a Happy Easter, whether you celebrate it or not.

We were just talking about Easter in this office. We have a variety of faiths represented here with a Catholic talking the importance of Good Friday, a Jehovah’s Witness talking about the importance of their celebration on Saturday, and a Protestant talking about the importance of Sunday. So it seems like most are celebrating it one way or another.

We also have an Eastern Orthodox monastery nearby, so the discussion on the difference between them and the Catholic faith came up.

As far as sports, here in WV all eyes are looking to Sunday, for WVU’s first time in the NCAA Final 4 in 50 years. (I’m only 49).

Who would have imagined that all this relatively trivial, non-business, personal info would even be read.. or appreciated. But you know what, I actually enjoyed reading it. It was real. And I could totally picture it, as if a friend were telling me a story. So kudos to you Chris. (I actually learned something here). And thanks for sharing. Best wishes to you and your family for Easter and beyond.

Thanks for your comments, Larry. In the strange world we live in, I find it’s often just best to be authentic. Not everybody believes it or even appreciates it, but it IS real.
